CANSKATE (5+) LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAM
CANSKATE (5+) is the first stage to our Learn to Skate program, designed for beginners of all ages. When you sign up for CanSkate, you will be in a program that focuses on fun, participation, and basic skill development. Your skater will earn badges and other incentives as they learn the fundamental skating skills. Lessons are taught in a group format and led by a CanSkate Certified Professional Coach. Professional Coach is assisted by trained Program Assistants (PA's). The Coach/student ratio is 1:10. Skaters progress at their own rate and coaches make sessions active using teaching aids, music and a wide variety of activities that create a fun environment and promote learning. CanSkate is the feeder program to all other Skate Canada Skating Programs.
During this 45 minute session, your child will have a Warm Up Time, 10 min with a Certified Coach, 20 minutes with Program Assistants, and a cool down. Please try to avoid a snow suit, as this limits movement. Dressing in layers allows for more flexibility and movement. A CSA approved helmet is mandatory.
