Pre-CanPowerSkate is designed for young skaters, approximately ages 4-7 who have an acceptance entry level of Skate Canada's Stage 1 and partial Stage 2 that may not be ready for CanPowerSkate Level 1. The curriculum is presented in three progressive levels (A,B,C) complete with its own awards to encourage participation and motivate skaters. Pre-Power helps develop basic skating abilities in a power skating-specific environment, including balance skills, forward and backward skating, stopping, turning and agility skills. This program offers instruction on how to skate efficiently and deliberately. Although it is a group program, each skater will receive optimal instruction from our Power skating instructors. The coach to skater ratio is 1:10. Pre-CanPowerSkate has been designed to run concurrently with CanSkate sessions.

Skaters must be able to skate fast forwards, fast backwards, stop forwards/backwards, 1ft glide forwards with speed, and turn forwards to backwards.

Black Hockey skates are required.

Optional full hockey gear (recommended)
